Show Jumping News; Get Well Zoe
Yesterday's Show Jumping rally took place on a crisp and windy day (which always brings out the best in ponies, doesn't it? Especially when jumps are blowing over etc.) The senior qualifying pony clubbers took on impressively challenging fences and courses while the non-qualifying divisions tried to keep their ponies in the middle third of a large grass paddock where their course was set.
First, we all wish Zoe L a speedy recovery and commiserate with her for fracturing her ankle and needing surgery. Get well soon Zoe!
Her scramble teammate Deena C achieved the medal for two clean rounds (and I will post her other placings when I get them, sorry). The qualifying team comprised of Katelyn S, Gus T, Piper T, and Anna M with Geneva T as SM placed second overall and second in HM. In the non-qualifying divisions Kris and Kim J scrambled (I'm sorry, I will post their placing as soon as I have), as did Beth H. with Pineland Riders, whose team placed third overall and first in HM.
Parent of Deena, Gail C judged the non-qualifying "C" kids and was especially kind to the lowest division, where everyone was encouraged to finish the course and got helpful suggestions even if their round was disqualified for going off-course, multiple refusals or what have you. She made it a very positive experience and allowed the kids, by her approach, to have successful second rounds. '
In the comedy dept., I am sharing my photo bloopers (which are bloopers not because of the riders but my issues with timing shots). Send your photos, please - you can see I need help.
