SHAGGY HORSE SHOWS at MCEC SCHEDULED:

HHPC will again be sponsoring a Shaggy Horse Show series at Mercer County Equestrian Center during the winter months. Dates have been set for December 2, February 3 and March 2.

The format and class list will evolve from last year, but with difficulty levels still oriented toward “D” riders and/or green horses. Each division will have a flat class judged on equitation, and there will be 12”, 18”, 2’ and 2’6” classes judged as jumper classes rather than equitation. They will be timed relative to an “ideal time” to encourage a safe pace.

Carol Santosusso is again heading the effort and needs helpers in different roles, from ringmaster to show secretary to jump crew.

The other big change is to emphasize sponsorship and an ad book as the primary means to make money, rather than entry fees. As ad order form has been circulated and another copy is included with this newsletter. Jump sponsorship featuring the sponsor’s name and an appropriate theme or logo are available, along with class sponsorship and various size ads. All members are asked to help sell ads.
